There are many things that may make a dog active; breed, age, genetics, diet, environment, and overall health. Many years ago, my dog, Sport came into my life. She was a beagle-coon hound mix. ALL energy and NERVES. She could hear a thunderstorm 3 counties away! Trust me, I knew they were coming before anyone else. She would wrap herself around me so tightly, I could not go anywhere. Her energy was second to none. To the fact that I would run her three times a day so that I could live with her in a peaceful state.
Just as with people, dogs can benefit from the use of Essential Oils. There are many oils that may promote a relaxing environment for you and your dog. It can be a process in finding the right one or blend of oils that hit that “sweet spot.” When trying different ones, I always recommend the guidance of your vet.
I have used a variety of Essential Oils in my home that promotes a relaxed state for all in the room. Essential oils such as Lavandula angustifolia, (Lavender) can promote a relaxing environment. Its fragrant influence can be calming, relaxing and balancing. Another Essential Oil that I use in my home is Roman Chamomile (Anthemis Nobilis) this oil can also help promote a relaxed environment.
When I diffuse I go low and slow. Considering a dog’s sense of smell it is always wise to just use a drop or two in your diffuser and always provide them ample room to move into another room if they so choose.
Many dogs can enjoy Essential Oils in their home in promoting a relaxed environment.
